#28 New Designs

I finally had the chance to do a photo-shoot for all my recent designs. I know it took awhile but I hope everyone enjoys the new designs.
Thank You Folded Card
Ivory 80# Card Stock
Thank You Card: This card was for someone who was graduating for high school. The school colors were black and gold.
Business Card
Business Card: The logo for the company was designed before we started with card design. The design went through so may different things including changes in the colors. As you can tell the client loves LSU.

Below is the "Guest Book" and Programs for one of my brides. I did a feature of this couple a few months back. Aimee's parents and my parents go way back, so when Aimee approached me to do her "guest book" and programs, I was thrilled. Here is the link to their story: Aimee & Patrick's Story
Unique "Guest Book" for a Destination Wedding
I had never in my life ever heard of doing a crossword puzzle for your guest book. This is by for one of the most creative things I had ever seen. Because it was a destination wedding and there were less people in attendees I think this works.

The following is the directions to the "guest book" for the guests.

Aimee had seen another fan program I did for my cousin Marci. So we took Marci's design and came up with something similar of Aimee.

#26 Bourgeois/Luna Wedding

So I realize I haven't posted anything on the Mayet Graphics blog in a while. I am truly sorry for that but my life has been a little crazy. I will be posting stuff later, but first I would like to post a story of one of my clients.

My father's god daughter is getting married and I am blessed to be able to design a few things for the bride and groom. As for my previous clients, I like to get their story from their words.

Aimee and her finance' Patrick are having a destination wedding. I will be getting their story and photos from their website. It is in their own words so it is perfect. So with further ado, here is their story.

Why a destination wedding?

We have chosen to have a destination wedding in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico as this has been a dream of ours. This region is located on the Caribbean side of Mexico on the Yucatán Peninsula. It is known for its beautiful beaches, Mayan ruins and tropical location.
We understand that since we have chosen to have a destination wedding, it may not be feasible for all of you to attend. It was a hard decision, but we love to travel and thought we would have a lot more fun making a mini vacation out of our wedding. A mini vacation will also allow everyone to visit, relax and spend time with each other. We hope that you treat our wedding as a vacation and celebrate with us for as long as you can!
How did they meet?

I was a traveling Physical Therapist, a gypsy of healing really. Every 3 months, I moved to different states and worked at a hospital. During my time in Houston 2008, I met Amy LeBlanc, a fellow co-worker and match maker extraordinare. She spoke of the "hot" Firefighter who moonlighted as a bartender at one of her weekly happy hours. We met at his bar. He was indeed a hot fireman, whose name was Patrick. That night I called him "Patty McFireman". He then dubbed me so tenderly, "Swimmer Arms" for my long flowing arms. Then I moved to Albuequerque, NM for 3 months. During this time, I kept hearing about how charming the Fireman was and he heard how cool Bougie was. Jan 2009 I came back to Houston and saw the Fireman the day after New Years.
Jan 2, 2009, I went after the Fireman with a romantic first date of playing basketball at the park. Yes, I am a jock, and it totally worked. After 3 months of wooing, I decided to keep traveling and went a few thousand miles to Olympia, WA. He turned the tables on me when he bought his plane ticket to visit me before I had even left. After 3 months of living in beautiful outdoorsy Washington and wallowing in my pathetic depression over missing my boyfriend, I returned to Houston and haven't left since!
The Proposal

In November, Patrick surprised me for my 28th birthday by telling me we would have a fancy date night in beautiful Crested Butte, CO for our Christmas vacation. Fast forward to December 27th, we arrive in Crested Butte. Patrick told me to dress warm for my dinner surprise. At sunset, he walked me right up to the ski lift on the mountain. The mountain was closing down for the day, but a lady was at the lift holding a Christmas box. Patrick told her "Hi Izzy, I believe that's mine!". We got on the ski lift and traveled up to the top of the mountain with no one else around. There in the middle of a wonderful view, he proposed.  Back to the lift area, two European ski patrol men were waiting for us with bells and whistles. They told us they would lead us down the mountain in a sled! After a rollercoaster ride, we made it down in one piece with my new shiny rock!
Patrick suggested we kill some time before dinner by checking out the homes on the mountain. We pulled up to a mansion that had a for sale sign in front. Patrick said we should go look at it more closely. I thought it was weird, but went with it. I balked when he told me to open the door though! He insisted, and I'm glad I did. I opened the door to see his niece Lulu welcoming us and his entire family holding camera phones and champagne glasses!
In the end, I found out my parents and Alicia were stuck in the airports all day long from delays! They arrived later that night. The Bourgeois' and Luna's had a very merry Christmas vacation break in a beautiful home that fit us all! During that time I learned Patrick had begun planning this since August! He had my entire family and his family lying to me for 5 months! The nerve!

#24 New Logo Design

Here is a new logo for International Canine Handlers Training Association. It is a non-profit organization. I love doing branding and logo design. I was only told that they wanted an oblong globe with the name around it. They also wanted starts.

#23 Thank You Cards

I just realized that I never posted about the Thank You cards that were designed for the Detillier/Westmoreland wedding.

Like I said in a previous post, I really enjoyed working with these two. They new exactly what they wanted; it took the guess work out of my job. The bride gave me something to go off of, so I just created something similar. I think it came out beautifully. They just wanted their initials and a key.

Thank You Folded Card: 3.5 x 5
I think the cards cam out nice; Simple yet elegant. We went through several different keys but I love the one we came up with in the end.

The colors of the image is brown and a coral color. The coral color was a color similar to the color of her bridesmaids dresses.
